Lace Treasures – Scrapbusting – Tag Ephemera Project

Lace Treasures – Scrapbusting – Tag Ephemera Project

Lovely Keepsake Project

This project literally began as something else. A new die set that I wanted to use in a certain way didn’t turn out as planned so  I kept the original idea that was supposed to be done with paper and reconstructed it to use lace.

I think this is a great idea to use multiple scraps. Paper, lace scraps, fabric scraps, charms or even one last little snippet of paper can become the focal point.

I kept it simple for the tutorial and used a basic tag shape but you could use multiple type nesting dies, punches or frames.

I think this creation could also be used for dozens of types of projects from keepsake mementos to themed journals. Sewing, bridal shower, memorial, special event are just a few of the ideas covered, maybe you just have one little snippet left of a beloved antique lace or other fabric and you want to keep it for your own scrap journal.

This could also be used to create beautiful gift tags, Christmas ornaments, Valentines or souvenirs. You could sandwich the lace to hold a special dried flower or other keepsake in between the two layers of lace as well.

I’m sure I could’ve went on an on with this project but it is definitely a keepsake in more ways than one. I hope it inspires you to create special little tags like this as a tactile and unique addition to your own journals or other projects.
