One Sheet Mini Album #8

Once you master this simple binding method, you'll be creating numerous mini albums with just one sheet of paper. Perfect for journals, photo keepsakes, and collages, these albums are versatile and easy to customize. Add corner tucks or pockets to hold ephemera, and they're great for sending as flat mail too!

Materials Needed

  • 1 sheet of 12×12″ scrapbook paper (choose non-directional paper if you're a beginner)
  • Single hole paper punch
  • String or twine
  • Scoreboard or scoring tool

Instructions

  1. Cut the Paper: Start by cutting your 12×12″ paper into three equal strips, each measuring 4″x12″.
  2. Score the Strips: Score each strip at 5 1/2″, 6″, and 6 1/2″.
  3. Fold and Burnish: Fold and burnish each score line as demonstrated in the video tutorial.
  4. Assemble the Album:
    • Choose your cover piece.
    • Decide whether to keep all papers in the same direction or reverse one to the opposite pattern for variety.
  5. Decorate and Embellish:
    • Add pockets and corner tucks as desired.
    • Note that 4×6″ photos will need to be trimmed to fit.

This binding technique is straightforward, making it ideal for creating notebooks for your journals using digital designs. The backs of the pages offer plenty of writing space.

Happy paper crafting!
