Valentine Gift Card Holder

Materials:

  1. 10″x4″ strip of double-sided cardstock or scrapbook paper
  2. Glue
  3. Scissors or trimmer
  4. Closure and embellishments
  5. Scoreboard

Instructions:

  1. Scoring:

    • Place your 10-inch strip of cardstock or scrapbook paper on the scoreboard.
    • Score the strip on the 10-inch side at the following measurements:
      • 1 1/4″
      • 3 3/4″
      • 5 3/4″
      • 7 3/4″
  2. Accordion Folding:

    • Fold the paper accordion-style using the scored lines.
    • Choose which side you prefer until you achieve a "W" or "M" shape, as shown in the video.
  3. Creating the Pop-Up Shape:

    • This will form a mountain shape that you will notch and glue on three sides to create pockets.
  4. Trimming and Notching:

    • After securing your holder, trim a small sliver off the notched pocket to allow for easy insertion of a card.
  5. Adding Sentiment (Optional):

    • If you desire a sentiment behind the pocket, cut a piece of paper measuring 2″ x 3.5″.
  6. Closure and Embellishments:

    • Use a closure of your choice to keep the card holder closed.
    • Add embellishments to personalize and enhance the visual appeal.
  7. Fill with Items:

    • Fill your card holder with various items such as gift cards, money, tiny Valentines, ephemera, tea, fussy cuts, or a bunch of hearts.
  8. Completion:

    • You now have an adorable, interactive pop-up card holder that you can create in less than 15 minutes.
