Triple Pocket Holder

Triple Pocket Holder

Triple Pocket Holder

This easy project is a card-sized adaptation of a previous 12×12″ paper craft project which you can find here...

In this version, there's a pocket specifically designed to hold an index card. With the leftover scraps, you can create tabs, a journal card, a tag, or whatever else you’d like.

Materials

You will need:

  • One 12×12″ sheet of scrapbook paper, cut to 8.5×11″
  • A scoreboard or scoring tool
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Start with your 8.5×11″ piece of paper. Place it in portrait orientation on your scoreboard and score at 4 1/4″. Then, turn your paper to landscape orientation and score at 5 1/2″. These scores will mark the center points of each side.
  2. On the left side, cut along the scoreline up to the center point. Fold, burnish, and assemble according to the video tutorial.
  3. To create the index card, measure your 3 1/2″x12″ piece to fit the card length, mark it with a pencil, and cut it out. Remember to account for a glue margin—no need to adjust the width.
  4. Use the remaining scraps to create a journal card and tags. The 1″ scrap can be used to make tabs and a tiny tag, as shown in the video. The pocket can be either top-loading or side-loading. If you want to add a notch, position it so that it’s visible in the triangular space.

The final size of the project is 4.25″ x 5.5″, which corresponds to a standard A2-sized card. This triple pocket holder offers plenty of storage, making it perfect for gift-giving, happy mail, or as an ephemera holder in your journal. It can also hold a mini book.

Happy crafting!
